Mae dweud stori nid yn unig yn hwyl i blant ond mae hefyd yn datblygu ei sgiliau llythrennedd a chreadigol. Yn ô l (TeachingEnglish | British Council | BBC, 2017) dyma beth mae dweud stori gallu cynnig i blant: “ Children have an innate love of stories. Stories create magic and a sense of wonder at the world. Stories teach us about life, about ourselves and about others. Storytelling is a unique way for students to develop an understanding, respect and appreciation for other cultures, and can promote a positive attitude to people from different lands, races and religions.” Mae hyn yn dangos faint o ddyfnder sydd mewn dweud stori a sut mae’n helpu plant mewn bywyd tu allan i’r ysgol. Mae dweud stori yn rhywbeth sy’n bwysig iawn ar gyfer plant gan fod o’n dysgu sgil hanfodol mewn bywyd. Mae dweud stori yn digwydd bron pob dydd wrth drafod gyda theulu a ffrindiau.
